Between April and June 2026, the Managing Director of the Tunisia trade office (OCT), accompanied by senior executives of the Office, carried out a series of field visits to several OCT storage and distribution centers as well as to a number of the Office's strategic partners.

These visits formed part of the Office's commitment to maintaining close contact with its operational structures, monitoring field activities, following up on ongoing logistics projects, and preparing future investments aimed at strengthening the national logistics network and ensuring the country's strategic supply security.

Béja: Monitoring Strategic Stocks and the Sugar Supply Chain

The first stage of the tour took the delegation to the Béja Storage and Distribution Center, followed by visits to two of the Office's strategic partners, namely the Beja Tunisian Sugar Company (STS) and GINOR .the refining sugar enterprise of Gendouba

The visit provided an opportunity to review the status of the Office's strategic stocks as well as the availability of raw materials intended for sugar refining.

The delegation also observed the launch of sugar refining operations at STS and monitored the progress of sugar packaging operations at GINOR, highlighting the effective coordination and close cooperation between the Office and its industrial partners.

Radès: Modernizing Logistics Infrastructure

The delegation visited the Radès Storage and Distribution Center, one of the Office's key logistics platforms.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed the proper conduct of storage and distribution activities and assessed the overall operational performance of the site.

The visit also marked the commissioning of the center's new electronic weighbridge, a strategic investment aimed at improving weighing accuracy, enhancing operational efficiency, and strengthening the logistics performance of the facility.

Sidi Bouzid and Sfax: Strengthening the Logistics Network and Preparing Future Investments

The field visit  continued with visits to the Sidi Bouzid Storage and Distribution Center and the Port Storage and Distribution Center in Sfax, where the delegation reviewed storage and distribution operations and assessed the overall performance of both facilities.

The delegation also visited the OCT-owned site located in Sakiet Eddaïer, where a new high-capacity storage and distribution center is planned. The future facility is expected to meet advanced logistics standards and significantly enhance the Office's storage and distribution capabilities.

This project represents one of the Office's major strategic investments for the coming years and is expected to increase national storage capacity, improve logistics efficiency, reinforce supply chain resilience, and better respond to the evolving needs of the domestic market.

Gafsa and Tozeur: Strengthening Logistics Capacity in the South-West

The delegation continued its field mission in the south-western region of the country.

The first stop was the Gafsa Storage and Distribution Center, where the delegation confirmed the smooth operation of the facility and acknowledged the commitment of the local teams.

The mission then continued to the Tozeur Storage and Distribution Center, where the delegation reviewed the center's operational performance and the efforts made to ensure the continuous distribution of the products marketed by the Office.

The tour concluded with a visit to the site allocated to the Office by the Industrial Land Agency (AFI) in the Kastilia–Degache Industrial Zone, where a new storage and distribution center is planned.

Technical studies for this project are already underway. Once completed, the new facility will significantly strengthen the Office's logistics capacity in the south-west, improve service quality, and further enhance the resilience of the national supply chain.
