The OCT ensures the supply of conjonctural products to the market in response to the request of the supervising ministry with the aim of regulating the local market. We import products that are facing a shortage of supply (such as bananas, potatoes, onions, milk...)
The Tunisian Trade Office (OCT) plays a strategic support role in maintaining the balance of the domestic market by intervening, at the request of its supervising ministry, in the supply of conjunctural products. These are typically essential goods subject to temporary supply disruptions caused by climatic, logistical, or broader contextual factors (such as global crises or fluctuations in local production).
Within this framework, the OCT undertakes exceptional import operations of widely consumed food products that are in short supply on the local market. These include, for example, bananas, potatoes, onions, and milk, which may face temporary shortages, leading to price spikes or market imbalance.
Through these targeted interventions, the OCT contributes to price stabilization, combating speculation, and ensuring fair access to these essential goods for all consumers. This regulatory function strengthens the country's food security and supports the purchasing power of citizens.
