COFFEE
Like sugar, coffee is a commodity traded on international financial markets, and its price is subject to significant volatility. This is driven by a variety of factors, including global production levels, climate conditions in producing countries, speculative activity on financial markets, and shifts in global demand.
In this unstable context, the OCT plays a strategic role as a regulatory intermediary, ensuring not only the availability of this essential product across Tunisian territory but also a degree of price stability for consumers and economic stakeholders. Imports are carried out mainly through internationally recognized suppliers who meet strict quality standards.
Thus, the OCT’s intervention helps secure the supply of green coffee despite fluctuations in the global market, while meeting the growing local demand in terms of both volume and quality.
The prices of both varieties of coffee have overall maintained high levels during 2022.
