As part of its efforts to strengthen economic relations with Asian markets and diversify its sources of supply, the Tunisian Trade Office received, on June 10, 2026, Mr. HOANG DUC NHUAN, Commercial Attaché of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Algeria, in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Office, the Deputy Director General, and several senior officials of the Office.
This visit forms part of a series of regular meetings held between the Tunisian Trade Office and the Vietnamese side since 2024 and 2025, reflecting the commitment of both parties to further develop trade cooperation and strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer presented an overview of the Tunisian Trade Office's strategic role in ensuring the supply of essential goods to the domestic market. He highlighted Vietnam's importance as one of the world's leading producers of Robusta coffee and expressed the Office's interest in expanding the number of Vietnamese coffee suppliers in order to enhance competition in international tenders and secure more competitive offers in terms of both quality and price.
For his part, the Vietnamese Commercial Attaché stated that his visit was intended to strengthen trade exchanges between the two countries. He also emphasized Vietnam's export potential not only in coffee but also in several other products, including cashew nuts and black pepper.
The Tunisian Trade Office, in turn, presented the export potential of Tunisia, particularly its high-quality olive oil, dates, and various agri-food products, emphasizing their ability to successfully enter the Vietnamese market.
In the same context, the Tunisian Trade Office participated in the virtual business forum organized by the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) on June 11, 2026, with the participation of the representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria and several Tunisian and Vietnamese companies operating in various sectors. On this occasion, the Office reiterated its interest in strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese exporters of green coffee.
Through these initiatives, the Tunisian Trade Office reaffirms its commitment to diversifying its sources of supply, expanding its network of international partners, and strengthening its trade relations in support of food security and its mission to ensure the availability of essential goods under the best conditions and at competitive prices.
